Manchester United have agreed several loan deals for the 2023/24 season. Here is a look at all of the Red Devils loanees.

Erik ten Hag has decided that some players aren’t ready for the first-team squad yet and some players simply need some more game time.

This is why after the January transfer window, Manchester United now have 17 players actively on loan. Here’s how they’re all getting on so far away from Old Trafford.

Joe Hugill

Joe Hugill clinched a loan move to League One strugglers Burton Albion in January.

He made an instant impact, he was brought on in the 62nd minute on his debut with his team trailing 2-1 and managed to grab an equaliser.

The goal was not quite enough to earn Burton a point, with Derby scoring an injury-time winner to snatch the game 3-2. He has since not scored agan, featuring just seven times.

Alvaro Fernandez

Spanish defender Alvaro Fernandez initially joined Spanish club Granada, who are in La Liga. He spent half a season there amassing just 414 minutes over 13 games.

He was subsequently recalled by Manchester United, who have now struck a deal with Benfica who have acquired the left-back on loan, with an option to buy.

All details can be found on the loan below, and it looks like it will probably be made permanent come the end of the season.

Hannibal Mejbri

Hannibal Mejbri was another January departure, with the Tunisian joining Sevilla on loan until the end of the season.

Mejbri joins a struggling Sevilla side, and he hasnt exactly hit the ground rinning. He’s had some shockers so far in La Liga.

The Spanish side also has the option to buy Hannibal at the end of the season – although this is unlikely. Details can be found below.

Will Fish

Centre-back Will Fish did well in pre-season for Manchester United before his season loan back at Hibernian was confirmed.

He was hit an early hitch, with Hibs manager Lee Johnson losing his job in the first month of the season.

However, since then Fish has thrived. He’s become a regular at the Scottish club and is an integral member of their squad. Great stuff from the Manchester United loanee.

Brandon Williams

Brandon Williams reunited with former coach Kieran McKenna on loan at Championship side Ipswich Town.

Williams’ first start saw him score an own goal after 74 seconds, not good. However, he then went on a run of good form.

Sadly, Williams has fallen out of favour as of late. He’s not played much at all since the end of November 2023.

Mason Greenwood

Mason Greenwood was been signed by Spanish side Getafe on a season-long loan.

Amid all the controversy, Getafe took a punt in the English winger – and they’ll be glad they did. Greenwood has been immense all season.

His highlights of the season so far have to be his wondergoal against Almeria, and his stellar performance against Sevilla in La Liga – where he grabbed a goal and an assist.

Jadon Sancho

The £73m man was reunited with his former club last week in a move that sees him join the Black and Yellow until the end of the season – with no option to buy.

Jadon Sancho has not played for Manchester United since his infamous spat with Erik ten Hag, which led to the move materialising.

So far – after a great debut, he has not impressed whatsoever.

Donny van de Beek

Donny van de Beek left Carrington for Eintracht Frankfurt in January, joining Sancho in the Bundesliga.

He is loaned to the end of the season, but the German side does have an option to buy.

He made his debut for the Bundesliga side in a fantastic win over RB Leipzig, but it’s gone downhill since there.

Maxi Oyedele

The last of the Manchester United loanees, Maxi Oyedele has joined Forest Green Rovers on loan until the end of the season, with no option to buy.

The academy starlet has enjoyed a previous loan spell with neighbouring club Altrincham last season but is yet to try his hat in the English Football League.

It hasn’t gone according to plan.

Rhys Bennett

Stockport County have signed Manchester United defender Rhys Bennett on loan until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old was captain of the United youth team which won the FA Youth Cup in 2022. Bennett made his debut in an embarassing loss, and hasn’t played much at all.

Dan Gore

Manchester United academy prospect Dan Gore has clinched his move to League One side Port Vale.

The tenacious midfielder links up with former red James Wilson in the third tier of English football for the remainder of the 23/24 season.

His manager was sacked early on after signing him – and he hasn’t had too much game time at all.

Radek Vitek

Radek Vitek has joined Accrington Stanley on loan until the end of the season.

The Czech goalkeeper looks to help the League Two strugglers for the rest of the 23/24 campaign. He’s been an absolute sensation so far.

Facundo Pellistri

Facundo Pellistri has joined Spanish side Granada on loan until the rest of the season. Alvaro Fernandez spent the first part of the campaign there.

This is Pellistri’s third spell in La Liga, following two stints at Alaves. There is no buy clause included in the loan.

He’s been a regular for them – with a particularly sensational performance against Barcelona.

Sam Mather

Sam Murray

Young goalkeeper Tom Wooster has signed on loan for Macclesfield Town until the end of the season, where he will play under Alex Bruce.

Centre-back Sonny Aljofree has signed on loan with Altrincham until the rest of the season. Like Murray, Mather and Wooster, he is able to also play for Manchester United’s under-21s, per conditions of the loan agreement.

Charlie McNeill – Returned

Charlie McNeill had joined League One side Stevenage on a season-long deal.

He spent the second half of last season in League Two with Newport County and was looking to relish the opportunity to show what he can do at a higher level.

Unfortunately, it hasn’t worked out. With Stevenage absolutely flying, McNeill is well out of favour. His quest for game time has only seen him play three games this season and just 163 minutes played. He’s had the worst time of any Manchester United loanees – which has subsequently led to a return.
