Who is Rhys Bennett?

Rhys Joseph Wright Bennett is a professional footballer who plays for Manchester United.

Bennett currently features for the academy sides, but after a string of fine performances, he has caught the eye of manager Erik ten Hag, who has rewarded him with a new contract, which could lead to future opportunities in the first-team squad.

Bennett featured 14 times for United in 2022/23. He was also named on the bench for the Premier League fixture against Nottingham Forest back in December 2022.

Where and when was Rhys Bennett born?

Bennett was born on the 30th of October 2003 in Denton, Greater Manchester. His nationality is English.

Bennett has spent the entirety of his footballing career at Manchester United. He was captain of the under-18s and has since made the step up featuring for both the under-21s.

Bennett officially joined the Red Devils ranks on the 1st of Jul 2020, graduating from the academy.

He hasn’t yet featured at any level for the national side.

He featured for 45 minutes in Manchester United’s pre-season win over Leeds, before an injury denied him a place on the US tour.
