Mason Greenwood was on the losing side as Getafe were beaten 3-1 by Sevilla as the English forward continues his spell in Spain whilst on loan from Manchester United.

Greenwood’s having a top season in Spain. Despite some recent troubles including a red card against Rayo Vallecano, the 22-year-old is making big waves away from Old Trafford.

His highlights of the season so far have to be his wondergoal against Almeria, and his stellar performance against Sevilla in La Liga – where he grabbed a goal and an assist.

Unfortunately for Mason, he could not repeat this excellent feat in the Copa del Rey against the same opposition.

Sevilla mock Mason Greenwood

The Europa League winners ran out 3-1 winners again Getafe, thanks to goals from Sergio Ramos and an Isaac Romero double. Getafe did equalise in Jaime Mata, but the away side ultimately took control and dominated proceedings.

Greenwood was the danger man for Getafe but had a quiet game by his standards. This led to the official English Sevilla account mocking the 22-year-old. They posted the following:

‘Sergio Ramos emptying his back pocket after the game tonight,’ it read with a picture of some keys, a wallet, a phone, and the Manchester United loanee.

The ex-Real Madrid star had a cracking game. He scored the first goal and produced a stellar defensive performance that rolled back the years to see his side through to the next round.

Mason Greenwood didn’t have a bad game…

Despite the account saying Greenwood was in Ramos’ ‘pocket’, the English forward did not have a bad game. He was probably Getafe’s best player.

Saying this, he didn’t have a sniff at goal himself. Did he finally meet his match in Ramos? There aren’t many better, that’s for sure.
