Manchester United youngster Radek Vitek is continuing his very strong start out on loan at Accrington Stanley.

It has been a positive start to 2024 for several of Manchester United’s loanees. Take Facundo Pellistri for instance, who scored and assisted in the Nou Camp last weekend.

In far less high-profile circumstances, Radek Vitek has been starring at League Two side Accrington Stanley.

The young goalkeeper has become a regular for the club since joining in the January transfer window, on his first ever career loan spell.

Radek Vitek does it again

Radek Vitek has made an instant impression. In four games so far he has three clean sheets, and three man of the match awards.

The latest came in a 2-0 victory for his side over AFC Wimbledon, with Vitek making four important saves.

He wrote on X: “Important 3 points yesterday! BIG thanks for incredible support to our fans. Also happy to get another clean sheet + Man of the Match.”

The only game he has conceded goals in so far was a 2-1 loss to MK Dons at the weekend, a game in which he also made five saves performed well.

The highlight of his performance against Wimbledon was an impressive double save where he dived low to keep one effort out, and then another with his feet moments later.

Manager hails Vitek impact

Radek Vitek was lauded for his game changing impact after the game by Accrington manager John Coleman.

Coleman told YouTube: “The keeper’s made a wonderful save, one of the rare times we went to sleep from a set play, that’s when you need your keeper to earn his corn and he did.

“Every now and again you need a keeper to make a great save, just like you need someone to score a goal, and it’s moments of brilliance that wins you games at both ends of the pitch.”

Vitek was a FA Youth Cup winner in 2022 alongside Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho.

There is no clear path to a first team spot at Old Trafford for him at present, so he needs to go out on loan and pick up experience, and he is thriving at Accrington Stanley so far. More opportunities will await him in the summer.
