Setback for Manchester United wonderkid as loan manager fired just two games after move

Manchester United youngster Dan Gore has had a ruthless welcome to the reality of the Football League.

Not every Manchester United youngster will enjoy the seamless instant success Radek Vitek has had at Accrington Stanley, where the Czech stopper has won two man of the match awards in his opening two games.

For others, it is a little more testing, and young midfielder Dan Gore faces a reset after just two matches.

Gore, 19, made the move to League One strugglers Port Vale, who now find themselves just one place above the relegation zone.

Port Vale boss fired

Port Vale have announced they have sacked manager Andy Crosby after three years at the club, and are currently searching for a successor.

Vale have a home game against Leyton Orient tonight and could enter that game with a caretaker boss.

None of this is ideal for Manchester United loanee Dan Gore, although it is par for the course with the tricky nature of loan moves.

Last month Maxi Oyedele signed on loan for Forest Green Rovers and was praised by manager Troy Deeney, who was fired just one day later.

Oyedele, 19, has made three appearances for the League Two side, all as a substitute, totally only 28 minutes.

Dan Gore loan so far

Dan Gore has made one appearance for Port Vale so far. He started for them at home to Portsmouth, substituted just before the hour, with the game goalless. They went on to lose 1-0.

At the weekend he was not part of the matchday squad for their 3-0 defeat at Fleetwood Town. It is unclear if this was injury related.

When he is next available, Gore will have to win over a new manager, which can only toughen him up for the unpredictable nature of senior football.
