Four players have agreed moves to Man Utd, not all will get their dream transfers

Manchester United are busy in the transfer window, and one area where the club have no problems is convincing players to sign.

It seems everybody wants to play for Manchester United. Potential signings are queuing up to join – blocked from doing so because nobody wants to leave.

United now need to sell in order to buy, having spent more than £80 million on Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro.

As many as four players have agreed personal terms with Manchester United, and are now awaiting clearance on their moves. Not all them may be successful…

Jarrad Branthwaite

Back in June, Jarrad Branthwaite agreed personal terms on a contract with Manchester United. The Times even reported the salary, an estimated £150,000 per week.

United have met heavy resistance from Everton, who cashed in on Amadou Onana to Aston Villa for £50 million.

Everton want £70 million for Branthwaite, and United do not want to pay this for any player this summer.

Branthwaite was said to be annoyed at his move being held up, and now it looks like it will not happen at all.

Everton want to sign him to a new contract, only for Branthwaite to tell them to match the offer from Manchester United.

Manuel Ugarte

Manchester United’s move for Uruguay international midfielder Manuel Ugarte has been in a holding pattern for the best part of a month.

United want Ugarte – but are yet to agree a fee with Paris Saint-Germain. A loan with an option to buy has been touted.

From Ugarte’s part, he is ready to make the switch. Fabrizio Romano reported in early July that Ugarte had agreed personal terms with Manchester United.

Noussair Mazraoui

Manchester United have agreed terms with Noussair Mazraroui, also reaching an agreement with Bayern Munich.

Normally, agreeing a fee, and personal terms, are enough to conclude a deal. Not quite in this case.

United are waiting to free up funds and squad space by selling Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The contract offered to Mazraoui is a five-year deal. We expect this one goes ahead, especially amid claims Wan-Bissaka has now agreed personal terms with West Ham.

Matthijs de Ligt

Manchester United are looking to add Matthijs de Ligt to the club’s centre-back ranks, and this has become even more important after fellow new signing Leny Yoro suffered an injury.

De Ligt has agreed personal terms with Manchester United, and is just waiting for the two clubs to agree a fee.

According to Fabrizio Romano, De Ligt is determined to join Manchester United, and has rejected rival offers in the past few days.

He wants to link up with his former Ajax boss Erik ten Hag and relaunch his career. His determination to join United is showing, and once the clubs agree a fee, this could get done quickly.

United could speed this up by selling Victor Lindelof, who has just one year left on his contract.
