Manchester United reach ‘verbal agreement’ to sign Noussair Mazraoui

Manchester United are closing in on another signing as Erik ten Hag continues to bolster his squad for the new Premier League season.

Pre-season action continues and Manchester United had a rather mixed outing in Los Angeles during the early hours of Sunday morning.

Rasmus Hojlund fired United ahead against Arsenal but the Gunners turned the game on its head to win the game 2-1.

A penalty shootout was agreed upon no matter the final score and United ended up winning with Kai Havertz and Jakub Kiwior failing to score for Arsenal.

United can be pleased with the shootout win but there is concern over Hojlund and Leny Yoro having picked up injuries.

There is still plenty to be worked on ahead of the new season and United could add a new face before the campaign starts.

Noussair Mazraoui to Manchester United progressing

United have now made Bayern Munich full backs Noussair Mazraoui a key target.

The Moroccan international played under Erik ten Hag during their time together at Ajax and a deal appears to be moving closer.

Mazraoui has struggled for consistent game time in Bavaria though and he is understood to have snubbed a move to West Ham United.

United are now moving on and reports overnight suggested that talks to bring Mazraoui to Old Trafford were advancing.

Foot Mercato now claim that United have reached an agreement with Bayern for the signing of Mazraoui.

Reporter Santi Aouna claims that a ‘verbal agreement’ has been reached today (Sunday).

The deal is allegedly worth around €25million (£21million) and a ‘total agreement’ has been reached with Mazraoui himself.

United do though need Aaron Wan-Bissaka to move on and the expectation is that he will sign for West Ham.

The Hammers are thought to have agreed on terms with United and are hoping that he can be tempted to East London with a hefty salary.

Reports only a few days ago indicated that Wan-Bissaka had snubbed West Ham, but the Hammers seemingly hope to convince him in the coming days.

Erik ten Hag finally set to land his man

United appear to be closing in on Mazraoui, finally securing a reunion with Ten Hag.

Reports in 2022 suggested that Ten Hag had asked United to try and hijack Bayern’s move to sign Mazraoui.

No deal was done back then though, as Mazraoui went ahead with his plans to sign for Bayern on a free transfer.

The move hasn’t really worked out for Mazraoui though as he has managed just 26 Bundesliga starts during his time with Bayern.

Now ready to move on again in search of more playing time, Mazraoui is ready to link up with Ten Hag once again.

The United boss will be delighted to finally land his man, but United still have some work to do in order to get this move finalised.
