Matthijs De Ligt has given his stance on joining Manchester United once again after other interested parties have come forward for the Dutchman.
Manchester United signed Leny Yoro earlier this month but the Red Devils are keen on adding another defender to their ranks.
Another aspect to be considered is injuries, which played such a key role last season for Erik ten Hag, and it appears that could, once again, be a problem this season.
Leny Yoro was spotted on crutches following the injury that the Frenchman suffered against Arsenal, which could be a repeat of Kobbie Mainoo’s lay-off that he suffered during pre-season.
If it is a long lay-off for Yoro, United may well turn their attention back to De Ligt.

Fabrizio Romano provides Matthijs De Ligt update
De Ligt has agreed personal terms with United and the Dutchman may not be the only defensive signing from Bayern Munich this summer.
Noussair Mazraoui is keen on moving to United this summer with Aaron Wan-Bissaka closing in on a move to West Ham United.
As for De Ligt, United will need to sell a centre-back before they can sign the Dutchman and Fabrizio Romano has given an update on the former Ajax defender’s future.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said: “There were other possibilities for Matthijs de Ligt in recent days, not in England but in other countries, he keeps repeating he wants to wait for Manchester United.
“He agreed on personal terms in June, he believes this is the best opportunity, he trusts the project he trusts the manager and he wants to feel important after a few difficult years at Bayern.
“He’s never been a regular starter, he’s had some problems and also with the Dutch national team he’s not a regular starter, so Matthijs d Ligt wants to feel important and this is why he wants to wait for Manchester United.”
De Ligt’s stance shows Ineos’ strategy is working
This has been the first summer transfer window under Ineos’ ownership of United and things seem to be going well for the Red Devils so far.
Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee have joined while Mason Greenwood has been sold to Marseille. Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Casemiro could follow the forward out the door.
However, one aspect of Ineos’ strategy that deserves praise is how they are convincing players to join the club.
De Ligt seems steadfast in his desire to wait for United whilst Yoro decided to move to Old Trafford despite interest from Real Madrid.
With Omar Berrada, Dan Ashworth, and James Wilcox in key positions at the club, it appears the Red Devils have an ace up their sleeves when it comes to bringing in players, particularly with the club not in the UEFA Champions League next season.
