Manchester United fans insisted that they have had major “flashbacks” after footage emerged of summer signing Leny Yoro on crutches following his injury setback.
Leny Yoro arrived at Old Trafford this summer after Manchester United signed the Frenchman in an initial deal worth £52.18m from Ligue 1 side Lille.
United, who agreed a further £6.73m in add-ons for the Yoro deal, landed the 18-year-old highly rated centre-back ahead of La Liga champions Real Madrid.
Erik ten Hag wasted no time integrating Yoro into the United first-team squad and the former Lille star started in the 2-0 win over Rangers in Scotland.
Following the victory over Rangers at the Murrayfield Stadium, Yoro started his second consecutive match for United during the pre-season tour.
The United defender was partnered alongside Harry Maguire in the 2-1 defeat against Arsenal at the SoFi Stadium on Sunday.
However, United manager Erik ten Hag was dealt a major blow after Yoro was forced off the pitch with an injury.

Man Utd blow over Yoro injury
Leny Yoro was withdrawn by Erik ten Hag in the 35th minute against Arsenal and replaced by defender Rhys Bennett.
Footage has since emerged of the United centre-back wearing a protective boot and using crutches in the aftermath of the match at the SoFi Stadium.
Yoro was spotted leaving using crutches and wearing a protective boot at United’s UCLA training base.
According to BBC Sport, sources at United have claimed that the Red Devils are ‘still assessing the extent of the injury.’
Speaking after the Arsenal match, Ten Hag didn’t hide his feelings over losing Yoro and United striker Rasmus Hojlund to injuries in pre-season.
“It is too short [notice], we have to wait over 24 hours and then we know hopefully more,” he told MUTV.
“We were very careful, especially with Leny. He did only 50 per cent from the sessions, so it was very disappointing that he had to come off, but let’s be positive and see what is coming out.”
Man Utd fans react to Yoro injury and make comparisons
United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, were devastated at seeing the footage of Yoro with his injury.
Red Devils supporters drew comparisons with Kobbie Mainoo, who suffered an ankle injury in the 2023 pre-season tour and missed the first half of the last campaign.
However, United fans admitted that Yoro could follow in Kobbie Mainoo’s footsteps by coming back even “stronger” from his injury setback.
One fan posted: “Yoro’s first season could mirror Mainoo’s. Unfortunate pre-season injury, return to training after being out for weeks [and] then stun the world with his brilliance. PS: could we stop playing on these godawful pitches in the US?”
Someone else commented: “Leny Yoro will return stronger after his pre-season injury, just like Kobbie Mainoo did last season.”
“Leny Yoro [is] giving me Kobbie Mainoo flashbacks,” a third tweeted.
Another said: “Just like Mainoo last season, Yoro will come back stronger and better.”
“I have seen this script before so [I] am not bothered… come back stronger like Mainoo did Yoro,” a fifth wrote.
While a sixth added: “This is painful, man, but he will come back stronger and better.”
Somebody else said: “Mainoo came back, became a starter right away, won a trophy and started for England during the Euros. Need to manifest that the same happens to Yoro.”
An eighth tweeted: “Nightmare, unless Yoro’s comeback has a rise as Mainoo.”
