Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is inching closer to returning as Manchester United boss following Ruben Amorim’s sacking.
Ineos felt as though Ruben Amorim crossed a line with his comments directed towards the club hierarchy in the fallout of the 1-1 draw with Leeds.
As a result, Amorim was sacked, and the search for a new head coach is now underway. Darren Fletcher has taken interim charge and will lead the Red Devils against Burnley, but a more stable solution is wanted for the rest of the season.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first caretaker spell at Man Utd was UNREAL
Why do you think it went so well for Ole?
According to Fabrizio Romano, Solskjaer is closing in on a United return more than four years after he was sacked as manager.
United players are open to Solskjaer returning, and the fanbase also approves of Solskjaer coming back to Old Trafford.

Benjamin Sesko could be biggest winner under Solskjaer
Harry Maguire has spoken highly of Solskjaer recently, and Bruno Fernandes also boasted an incredible record under the Norwegian. The two senior stars would likely look forward to a reunion with their former manager.
But Solskjaer’s arrival could transform United’s attacking department, especially a struggling Benjamin Sesko.
Sesko was slammed as “awkward” by Gary Neville following his slow start to the season, but the Slovenian striker has shown signs of promise.

Solskjaer is reportedly open to returning to the Old Trafford hotseat
Unfortunately for Sesko, at 22 years old he is United’s most senior striker and he is lacking a role model to learn from.
Solskjaer was a lethal finisher during his playing days at United, and his coaching could help to unlock a new level in Sesko that was not seen under Amorim.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer improved Man United strikers
Solskjaer’s free-flowing football was a dream for United’s forwards, and the Red Devils never really struggled for goals under his management.
In fact, United’s top scorers under Solskjaer all boasted very impressive records.
Marcus Rashford enjoyed his best spell under Solskjaer, while Fernandes was in his prime playing in Solskjaer’s 4-2-3-1 system.
Solskjaer worked with experienced strikers such as Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo during his time at United, but he also showed an ability to improve young forwards through his coaching.
That is where Sesko can benefit.
