Manchester United need to not only replace Ruben Amorim after he was sacked, but also all of his backroom staff.
Ineos decided on Monday morning to sack Ruben Amorim as head coach, 14 months after his appointment.
It was immediately confirmed that Darren Fletcher will become interim head coach and take charge of the upcoming Premier League clash against Burnley.
Name the player you are most excited to see play under Darren Fletcher in his opening game in charge….
Amorim brought his own backroom staff from Sporting Lisbon as part of his agreement to join United, and they were also sacked, meaning Fletcher now needs to build his own coaching team.
United have moved quickly and appointed Jonny Evans as assistant coach just one month after he left his role at the club.

Jonny Evans appointment is a stroke of genius
Evans spent two stints at United as a player, first coming through the ranks under Sir Alex Ferguson and then returning in 2023 under Erik ten Hag.
After retiring at the end of last season, Evans was named loans manager at United, but he quit that role at the start of December.
Less than a month later, he will return to Old Trafford as Fletcher’s assistant, and he will be a familiar face for the rest of the squad.
Who do YOU want as the next Man Utd manager?
What traits are you looking for?
Evans played alongside the majority of the current squad, other than the five signings added this summer, and he was a leader that others could look up to.
Fletcher is tasked with navigating United through a tricky period in the aftermath of Amorim’s sacking, but bringing Evans back should add some stability and provide a strong connection to the current batch of players.
Jonny Evans has completed his coaching courses
Not only is Evans an experienced player and a familiar face for the squad, but he is also qualified as a coach.
Back in October 2024 it was reported that Evans enrolled for coaching courses and was completing them in his spare time alongside teammate Harry Maguire.
Ferguson used to emphasise the importance of completing coaching courses to his players, and it seems Evans took his advice and now has a golden opportunity to make a difference alongside Fletcher.

It has not yet been communicated how long Fletcher and Evans will take charge of United for, but Ineos could wait until the summer to make a long-term appointment.
In the meantime, Fletcher and now Evans alongside him, will hope to impress in the dugout.
