All day we have been waiting, patiently, for the announcement of Raphael Varane’s transfer to Manchester United.
Well, it appears there will be no formal unveiling today.
The good news is Varane has completed his medical.
Not today
The Athletic report there are minor contract points to sort out before a transfer can be confirmed.
The report states: “It is thought there are still minor details to iron out on the paperwork before United can herald his arrival. Expectations are this will come before the weekend, but not on Wednesday.”
Having waited so long, what is another day, right?
Varane is Manchester United’s dream defensive signing, so the wait will be worth it.
It is just frustrating to have to wait so long, with the new Premier League season kicking off on Saturday.
There is still an outside chance Varane can be in the squad to face Leeds. United would have to register him with the Premier League by midday Friday.
