Manchester United continue to be linked with a move for Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni, with no signs of the speculation being quenched just yet.
The list of midfielder targets for Manchester United may have required tweaking in recent weeks, especially with players like Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes moving elsewhere.
However, one option that has been on United’s radar for years is Aurélien Tchouaméni.
After missing out on the France international in the summer of 2022, right before he officially completed his move from Monaco to Real Madrid, interest has been reignited with Los Blancos open to selling a big-name midfielder.

How much should Man Utd pay to sign Aurelien Tchouameni? What would you consider a fair fee?

Man Utd offer Aurélien Tchouaméni a five-year contract
Talks have taken place between United and Real Madrid over a potential deal for Tchouameni.
After walking away from deals for Anderson and Fernandes, Tchouameni is a bona fide superstar who has won the Champions League and World Cup. A midfielder who warrants a premium price tag.
As far as many fans are concerned, United’s window hinges on Tchouaméni signing or not, but it remains to be seen how the 26-year-old will react to the idea of leaving Madrid.
A report from Libertad Digital on Tuesday suggested Real Madrid are stepping up their plans for next season, with ex-United manager Jose Mourinho making squad decisions.
The Spanish news outlet claims the Spanish giants have accepted offers for two of their players, including Tchouameni: “It is already known that the Premier League, through Manchester United and Chelsea, had submitted two significant offers for both players. What no one expected was that Real Madrid would decide to accept both offers.”
In a further update on Tchouameni, the reliable Jose Felix Diaz told Ruben Martin’s live YouTube stream that United have offered Tchouameni a “very good” five-year contract.
The transfer window is heating up, but it’s unlikely that Tchouameni will decide on his future until the 2026 World Cup comes to an end, as many expect France to go all the way.
It would be a dream signing, but patience is required.

Man Utd must not get played by Aurélien Tchouaméni
There are examples in the past of big-name players at Real Madrid who used United during the transfer window to secure a better contract with the Spanish giants.
Sergio Ramos did it, and there’s a chance Tchouameni could end up committing his long-term future to the club, despite being heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Tchouameni is under contract until 30 June, 2028.
The last thing United want is to spend time on a potential deal, only to be informed that Tchouameni doesn’t want to join.
