Manchester United are looking to compete with Liverpool and several other clubs across Europe for the signature of Mateus Mane this summer, United in Focus understands.
United in Focus has been exclusively informed by transfer expert Ekrem Konur that Manchester United are set to be part of the race for 18-year-old Mateus Mane this summer.
Konur claims that Wolves have set a £35m price tag on their academy graduate, who took the Premier League by storm last season, despite experiencing relegation.
United are not alone in wanting Mane, with Liverpool and several big clubs around the continent all keen on the youngster.

Manchester United prepare offer to sign Mateus Mane
While Wolves’ valuation of £35m seems steep, Konur says that sources are indicating United are ready to ‘test the waters’ with a move in the region of £20m for Mane.
United’s interest in Mane has lasted most of the 2025/26 season and now into the summer, as he was one of the most impressive teenagers in the league despite playing for the worst team.
Earlier this year, Liverpool were heavily linked with a move for Mane, but now Konur reports that they aren’t currently expected to make an approach because of the valuation. But that this could change in the coming weeks if Wolves are open to accepting less.
There is plenty of interest in signing the young attacking midfielder this summer, not limited to England.

Mane could provide depth for Bruno Fernandes
Mateus Mane was a complete anomaly last season for Wolves, coming out of nowhere to step up and single-handedly provide a bit of joy for a club that had looked like one of the all-time worst in the league.
Per 90 in the league, Mane ranked in the 73rd percentile for chances created for Wolves, so imagine how devastating he would be off the bench for United if Bruno Fernandes was being rested.
Mane completes a lot of dribbles, duels, and wins plenty of fouls, which make him perfect to come on and see out wins, battle for points.
It would be a good investment, an 18-year-old who is sure to improve and get better in the coming years.
