Paul Pogba’s performance for France against Germany at Euro 2020 earned widespread praise.
Bruno Fernandes and Jesse Lingard lauded the midfielder, as did Manchester United supporters, while Bastian Schweinsteiger also chimed in with praise.
Pogba’s performance also understandably prompted a very strong positive reaction in the French media.

Le Figaro described Pogba’s performance as ‘magistral, monstrous, and indefatigable’.
The newspaper commended his defensive contributions, writing how he never stopped ‘breaking, harassing, and oppressing his opponents’. His performance was compared to his ‘masterful’ 2018 World Cup displays.
Le Parisien wrote how Pogba ‘dazzled’ and described him as a ‘metronome’.
L’Equipe rated Pogba a 8/10, and wrote: “We found the Paul Pogba of the 2018 World Cup.”
Footmercato kept the compliments coming, describing Pogba’s performance as ‘stratospheric’. Their report wrote that Pogba was ‘simply exceptional’.
Humility from Pogba
Pogba put his strong display down to the team. He said it was the perfect way to begin Euro 2020.
Quoted after the game in his press conference Pogba said: “The team performance is the most important thing. Without them, I wouldn’t have played as well. We all put the effort in.
“We’re focused on our jobs on the pitch. We know we need to live up to our tag as world champions and come out on to the pitch with humility. When we need to suffer, we do it together and when we attack, we do it together.”
