Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes holds a lot of cards at the club right now, and he’s just picked out a key signing for Ineos to complete.
This summer has already seen Manchester United agree to sign Ederson once his World Cup involvement for Brazil comes to an end.
But Ineos are far from done with at least five additions reported to be on the agenda during this summer transfer window at Old Trafford.
With a transfer war chest of £250m, United have money to spend, and midfield is where the bulk of this will be committed. With Bruno Fernandes now picking out a signing he wants the club to make.

Bruno Fernandes gives a glowing endorsement of Mateus Fernandes to Manchester United
Mateus Fernandes is known to love Bruno Fernandes, and now it looks almost certain the pair will be lining up together next season.
Fernandes is ‘desperate to join United’ this summer, and slowly but surely, the transfer is going through. Now, Nathan Salt has told the Stretford Paddock what he has heard.
“He’s desperate to play Bruno Fernandes – Bruno Fernandes has sung his praises to the hierarchy. It shouldn’t, in theory, be a difficult deal to do.”
In addition to this, speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has explained that Fernandes is really keen to join United.
“Mateus Fernandes is very keen on a move to Man Utd.
“Ideally, West Ham wanted around £100m, but the expectation is they can close the deal for around £85m.
“Man Utd want to sign the player, and contacts will continue in the next hours and days.”
By all accounts, Fernandes to United is one transfer that should be done in the near future.

Manchester United are transitioning to a more dominant style of football
With Fernandes, Fernandes, and Kobbie Mainoo as a midfield unit, it is clear that United are moving toward a more possession-based, dominant style of football.
This is opposed to the more chaotic transition-based system that Carrick had to implement to accommodate Casemiro in the midfield department.
Fernandes and Mainoo are two midfielders so comfortable on the ball, but both also have the quality to do the more defensive side of the game, with tackling and pressing, a recent quality Mainoo has developed.
Carrick is thinking of reverting to a midfield three with PSG’s trio the prototype for his United.
