Manchester United are getting ready to kick off the new season this weekend.
New signing Jadon Sancho has been training with the first team for the past week.
The winger is the reason lots of United fans are excited ahead of the new season, with a long transfer saga finally resolved.
Club captain Harry Maguire is also looking forward to Sancho helping the team out and feels he will play a major role.
Maguire told Sky Sports: “I think he’s been linked with us for a couple of seasons now and it felt a bit like my transfer when I was joining Manchester United, where it didn’t happen one season but the following season we managed to get it over the line.
“I’m really excited for him, he’s an exceptional talent.
“He’s the type of player – with the confidence he has – who can be a real star for this club and I feel like in the future and the success we have, he can have a big part to play.”
Sancho will love the comments
Harry Maguire already knows Jadon Sancho from the England set up, so he already knows first hand the quality he possesses.
Along with Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford, and Mason Greenwood and Dean Henderson who were in England’s initial summer squad, Sancho will feel at home at Old Trafford.
The former Dortmund winger will love hearing Maguire’s words of confidence in his ability.
Sancho scored 36 goals combined in his last two seasons for Dortmund and he will be looking to have a similar impact for United.
A goal on his debut against Leeds really would be the perfect way to start.
