There has been a charm offensive this week from West Ham towards Jesse Lingard.

First team coach Stuart Pearce went on Talksport to publicly declare West Ham’s interest in re-signing him as still active, while back-up goalkeeper Darren Randolph urged him on social media to rejoin.

But don’t think Jesse Lingard is not valued at Manchester United. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told the club website the midfielder will play a ‘big part’ if he stays.

Teammate Bruno Fernandes is also making him feel valued. After welcoming him back to training earlier this week, per The Mirror, the Portuguese star posted another message on Instagram last night dedicated to his teammate.

Fernandes also said in a Q&A earlier this summer with United’s official website that Kevin Hart was his favourite comedian, so his message to Lingard is certainly intended as a big compliment.

Lingard is popular behind the scenes at United, also posing during training for a photo with briefly promoted academy youngster D’Mani Mellor, who spent time with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side yesterday.

The 28-year-old appeared to be having fun, getting to know new United teammate Jadon Sancho too.

Lingard also took time to thank Bruno Fernandes for his comment on social media.

While the pair are competitors for the same position at United, a contest Fernandes has won hands down to Lingard’s detriment, the pair clearly enjoy each other’s company.

Solskjaer hopes there can be room for both at United this season, and while the next fortnight with the transfer deadline will show whether the United boss is bluffing or not, Lingard and Fernandes seem happy co-existing and there may be a happy balance to let them both get adequate game time.
