Manchester United beat Rosenborg 5-0 in their second game of the pre-season tour.
The 2026 pre-season tour began with Manchester United losing 1-0 against Wrexham, but Michael Carrick’s side got back to winning ways on Friday with a convincing 5-0 victory over Rosenborg.
United fans in Trondheim were gifted not only a brilliant performance from a team mixed with experience and youth, but they also saw five goals, all going in their favour.

Who impressed you most and why?
Shea Lacey
There is no disputing Shea Lacey’s talent, but performances like today will help force Carrick’s hand in giving him more minutes in the first team.
Lacey has yet to feature in a competitive game under Carrick, but he looked like he belonged in the first team with his performance against Rosenborg.
The opening goal from Lacey was United’s first goal in the pre-season tour after failing to score against Wrexham.
Leny Yoro
If I had to pick one player who has looked the sharpest in United’s first two games this summer, Leny Yoro takes some beating.
The French defender has started both games at right-back, looking comfortable on the ball as well as defending from one-v-one situations. He backed it up again in the second half at centre-back.
Yoro dealt with everything that was thrown his way against Rosenborg. This bodes well ahead of a big season for the 20-year-old.
Joshua Zirkzee
Joshua Zirkzee is no stranger to criticism, but he deserves a bit of credit this week.
The Netherlands striker linked up play well, but also finished the game with two goal contributions (one goal, one assist).
If Zirkzee is to stay at United beyond this summer, despite interest from Juventus, he needs to replicate today’s performance and build on it going forward.
Jacob Devaney
Building on an impressive display against Wrexham, Jacob Devaney wasted no time getting on the scoresheet after coming on in the second half.
Devaney played at centre-back again and looked solid.
The more Devaney impresses on tour, the more likely it is that he will be kept at Old Trafford rather than sent out on loan next season.
Jaydan Kamason
Jaydan Kamason came on at right-back and did what he does best by getting forward to send dangerous crosses into the box.
The introduction of Kamason, who showed a degree of speed and strength on the right flank, led to more goals being scored in United’s favour.
Kamason registered two assists to prove he can be a handful in attacking positions.

Michael Carrick
Another game that saw the players get more minutes under their belt without picking up any niggles or injuries.
If that continues, Carrick will end up being the biggest winner of the pre-season tour.
The performance should please United’s head coach, too.
Next up is Atlético Madrid, a side never shy of leaving a foot in, so Carrick will have his fingers crossed that his players stay injury-free ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
