Manchester United have placed a keen focus on signing young talents but one prospect is now nearing a move to Aston Villa.

Ineos have not exactly brought success to Manchester United this season, but they have brought changes.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe clearly wants to focus on signing younger players, and United invested big money in Leny Yoro.

United saw Yoro as a first-team prospect, but other signings were viewed as talents for the longer term.

Chido Obi, Samuel Lusale, James Overy and Sekou Kone all arrived with United looking towards the future.

United also signed Ayden Heaven in January, with the Arsenal talent quickly showing that he can feature in first-team action.

Sverre Nypan to Manchester United rumours can finally end

United are likely to continue recruiting top young talents, and Rosenborg’s Sverre Nypan has been a prime target.

Nypan has been linked with United for around two years, having emerged as a top talent in Norway.

Nypan described a potential United move as a dream, leaving the door open for a move to Old Trafford.

Surprisingly, reports in January suggested that United’s interest in Nypan had cooled.

United fans have held out hope that there would be a U-turn on that front, but those hopes can now be extinguished.

Norwegian newspaper Nettavisen report that Nypan has now chosen to sign for Aston Villa.

It’s suggested that Nypan made his final decision a couple of weeks ago, and the details of a move to Villa Park are now being finalised.

This means Nypan may end up playing against United for Villa over the coming years, with the 18-year-old backed for a huge future.

United failing to sign Lucas Bergvall has backfired and must now hope that Nypan doesn’t prove to be a similar case.

United still chasing young signings

Nypan may not be joining United, but the work on signing potential stars of the future continues.

Sheffield United’s Ryan Oné is on United’s radar, having shown potential at Bramall Lane.

United In Focus understands that United have scouted Mali talent Seydou Dembele with the midfielder catching the eye.

Burkina Faso talent Asharaf Loukman Tapsoba is also on United’s radar, but he is only 15 and can’t join for another three years.

Ajax teenager Zakaria Ouazane is wanted by United as well, so there is plenty of work being done on potential signings for the future, even if Nypan won’t be one of them.
