Manchester United are in the market for a new striker this summer, and could end up snatching Ipswich Town’s preferred replacement for Liam Delap.
Manchester United’s need for goals is clear.
Joshua Zirkzee scored against Lyon on Thursday night, but the Dutchman has not been a consistent source of goals this season.
Rasmus Hojlund is wanted in Italy, with Ruben Amorim potentially ready to make changes up top this summer.
United want Liam Delap as a new striking option, having worked alongside Jason Wilcox at Manchester City.
The approach of signing young players under Ineos is likely to continue, and that could lead to a teenage forward arriving.

Manchester United eye Sheffield United’s Ryan Oné
United landed a top young striker last summer as Chido Obi joined from Arsenal.
Obi has already impressed Alan Shearer having shown some promise in the United first team this season.
United may now look to bring in another young forward, with the Daily Mail reporting that Sheffield United’s Ryan Oné is now on the Old Trafford radar.
It’s stated that United have been checking on Oné ahead of the summer transfer window.
Ipswich Town are expected to make a move for Oné, though, believing he can be a great replacement for United target Delap.
United may well look to sign both Delap and Oné, potentially leaving Ipswich and Kieran McKenna gutted.
Oné has already been playing first-team football for Sheffield United and may well want a route to senior action if he leaves Bramall Lane.
United would likely view Oné as one for the future, just like Obi, and the 18-year-old would have to weigh up the best move for his career if United firm up that interest.

Sheffield United talent Ryan Oné profiled
Oné is the son of Armand Oné, a French striker who played for Cambridge United, Wrexham, Ratih Rovers and Livingston, among others.
Born in Scotland, Oné came up in the Hamilton Academical youth ranks, playing 35 first-team games and scoring four goals.
Sheffield United pounced to sign Oné in 2023 and made his Premier League debut against Arsenal in October 2023.
The Scotland Under-21 international has played 11 times in the Championship this season, scoring just one goal.
Described as a ‘powerful’ striker on Sheffield United’s official website, Oné has huge potential and could become United’s next striking project alongside Obi.
