Manchester United are reported to be closely watching Norwegian superkid Sverre Nypan.
Nypan, 16, is already playing first team football for Norwegian top flight side Rosenborg.
At the weekend Nypan scored in Rosenborg’s 3-2 defeat to Bodo/Glimt. Norwegian outlet Adressa wrote: “Forget the loss, Rosenborg have found gold.”
The Sun report Manchester United have been closely tracking Nypan’s progress for around a year already.

Norwegian outlet TV2 labelled Nypan as a ‘very promising player’ after his weekend goal. He has four first team appearances to his name so far.
Nypan is Norway’s under-17s captain and has also represented his country at 16s and 15s level.
The youngster is a creative midfielder whose calmness on the ball has seen him instantly adapt to first team level.
Nettavisen reports: “He is probably two heads shorter than most others on the pitch and lifts 50 kilograms less than them, but every time a teammate plays a pass to him, they feel they are making a safe choice. That is perhaps what makes him stand out. He is young, but you can trust him.”
The problem Manchester United face is Brexit. Nypan won’t turn 18 until December 2024, meaning the Red Devils cannot sign him until the January 2025 transfer window.
This is due to the rules which mean United cannot sign non-UK youngster under 18. The club signed Alejandro Garnacho the final summer before the rule came into effect.
United did sign another Norwegian talent that summer, Isak Hansen-Aaroen, who is now part of the club’s under-21 squad.
The club’s interest comes days after former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed that he urged Manchester United to sign Erling Haaland for just £4 million while he was at Molde, back in 2018, via The Athletic.
The club fatefully chose not to heed his advice. It makes sense that the club are keen not to miss out on the next super talent from the country. But they will have to be patient.
