Mathys Tel to Manchester United latest, Bayern Munich ‘insisting’ on one thing with player pushing for exit

Manchester United have mere hours to bring in a forward to bolster Ruben Amorim’s struggling attack.

Ineos were relaxed over the prospect of Manchester United’s transfer business being concluded after Patrick Dorgu was announced on Sunday.

However, Sunday brought two new reasons why signing a striker on transfer deadline day is a necessity for United.

United’s forward line was utterly toothless during the 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford against Crystal Palace.

Things got even worse for United’s attacking group later in the day with Marcus Rashford joining Aston Villa on loan. This departure leaves Amorim’s Red Devils woefully short and in need of an addition.

Now there is an update on the most likely name to arrive, Mathys Tel.

Mathys Tel still pushing for Bayern Munich exit

The gauntlet is set for Ineos, with Amorim hinting he wants further additions.

In order to give United’s head coach what he wants, Bayern Munich’s Tel is the most likely addition to the ranks.

Sunday saw a deal to sign Tel labelled complicated. However, with the need for an addition and Tel’s desire to join United, now the deal is back on.

Now, speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has shared the latest.

According to the transfer expert, Tel is still pushing to leave Bayern on loan.

In negotiations, Bayern have been insisting that interested clubs must have an obligation to buy the France youngster – as opposed to an option.

Romano adds that everything is open, with interested clubs calling about the deal, indicating something is likely to happen on Monday.

This is likely the scenario as opposed to claims a deal had fallen through, with Fabrice Hawkins claiming Bayern had been too greedy in negotiations.

Manchester United cannot afford to miss out on Tel

After Sunday, Ineos cannot afford to not sign Tel – or a suitable alternative – with fans growing weary over the attacking options.

Amorim decided to start Kobbie Mainoo as the striker against Palace – which was a clear message to the decision-makers. ‘Sign me a striker’.

In the defeat, United mustered just two shots on target from 17 – a terrible conversion rate which signifies a huge issue at the club.

So this transfer deadline day, United simply need to sign Tel or risk the next few months being no better than the last few.

Tel is a far better striker than Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee despite his age and would be an instant upgrade – the bar is simply too low for him to not be.
