Marcus Rashford is set to leave Manchester United and an attacking replacement may now be a priority for Ruben Amorim.

The January transfer deadline is now just over 24 hours away.

What looked like being a fairly quiet window for Manchester United has actually become pretty busy.

We’ll start with the outgoings with Antony joining Real Betis and Marcus Rashford poised to sign for Aston Villa.

One incoming deal has been confirmed as Ayden Heaven joined United from Arsenal on Saturday.

Patrick Dorgu will complete his move from Lecce but United may now be working on another incoming.

Manchester United have hope of major arrival

United allowing Rashford to leave is no surprise given how he has been exiled under Ruben Amorim.

A replacement in the final third may well be needed though and United have been linked with Leon Bailey.

The main name in the mix though is Mathys Tel with the Bayern Munich forward potentially on the move.

Reports just days ago suggested that United have been making calls to sign Tel on loan.

Tel appeared to say goodbye to Bayern on Wednesday night and was left out of the squad to face Holstein Kiel on Saturday.

A departure still appears to be on the cards for Tel and The Mirror claim that there is a ‘growing belief’ inside Old Trafford that Tel can be secured.

Tel has snubbed a move to Tottenham Hotspur but United seemingly believe that he can be lured to Manchester.

A permanent option for Tel would be ideal but United are running out of time to get a deal in place with Bayern.

Mathys Tel admires Cristiano Ronaldo

Fabrizio Romano now adds that Tel essentially has two options on the table – United and Arsenal.

Tel is weighing up his decision but Romano claims that the Frenchman has two major idols in the game; Cristiano Ronaldo and Thierry Henry.

Tel now has a chance to follow in the footsteps of one idol, but which one he chooses to emulate remains to be seen.

Arsenal’s injury crisis in attack means that the Gunners can likely offer just as much first-team action as United.

The 19-year-old has stalled at Bayern this season and needs to be playing – we just hope to see him choose Old Trafford over the Emirates Stadium.
