Manchester United are set to say goodbye to Marcus Rashford but could have another attacker arriving to replace him.

The January transfer window has entered its final stages and Manchester United still have business to do.

Ayden Heaven has joined United from Arsenal whilst Patrick Dorgu will complete his move to United from Lecce.

United may hope for more incoming business but much will depend on outgoings.

Tyrell Malacia’s move to Benfica is off but Marcus Rashford is close to leaving United.

Rashford is set to join Aston Villa with the exiled forward ready to try and kickstart his career elsewhere.

Manchester United want Aston Villa attacker

United may be saying goodbye to Rashford but Ruben Amorim is surely seeking an attacking addition.

United fancy Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel but are also exploring an option closer to home.

The Athletic report that United are considering a late swoop to sign Aston Villa wide man Leon Bailey.

Talks with Villa have not yet been kicked off despite lines of communication being open due to Rashford’s imminent move.

Bailey is just one target to have been discussed inside Old Trafford with United eyeing a late loan deal.

The Jamaican international was praised for his ‘extraordinary pace’ by Rudi Voller on the official Bundesliga website.

After shining for Bayer Leverkusen, Bailey has blown hot and cold in a Villa shirt and only scored his first Premier League goal of the season in January.

Leon Bailey may be pushed out at Aston Villa

Bailey hit 14 goals in all competitions last season and Amorim may well believe that he can get the wide man back to his best.

Bailey has also operated in a more central role at times for Villa, which may be ideal for Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 approach.

United already know that Rashford is joining Villa, and that may just make Bailey available – especially with Donyell Malen already snapped up too.

Bailey’s situation may get even worse now though as Villa are set to sign Marco Asensio from Paris Saint-Germain according to Fabrizio Romano.

Villa have lost Jhon Duran but three attacking signings this month suggest that Bailey is becoming an odd man out.

United may now seek a loan swoop for Bailey, though any deal would be separate to Rashford’s Villa Park switch.
