Manchester United could be about to make the biggest profit sale since Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009.
At Old Trafford on Thursday night, Alejandro Garnacho might have played his final home game for Manchester United.
Garnacho was impressive in the game which saw Old Trafford respond with verses of ‘Viva Garnacho’ in the second half, making the fans’ stance clear.
Ruben Amorim said post-game that he was impressed with Garnacho’s performance but suggested he expects a lot more.
At the end of the game, there was some focus on Garnacho, to watch his attitude and see if he was bidding farewell to the Theatre of Dreams, due to how close an exit is.
Well after the game, Garnacho sent a seven-word message which ended with ‘Thank you Old Trafford’, which could be his goodbye. Now, with Chelsea expected to bid for the Argentine, Enzo Maresca has been asked about the possible addition.

Enzo Maresca asked about signing Alejandro Garnacho
Despite Napoli leading the race for a long time, Chelsea in the past few days has looked like Garnacho’s most likely option.
Garnacho is said to be concerned about his place in Amorim’s plans, which could see the unthinkable happen with United selling a talented academy graduate.
Now, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has been quizzed by reporters over the transfer, to which he had a clear stance via club media.
“I’m happy with what we have. On the right, it’s Neto and Noni. On the left, we have Sancho. We had Misha but he’s not with us. Tyrique [George] is an option.”

At Chelsea, Garnacho would join a squad which is already bloated and he would be unlikely to get more minutes than he is at United.
Maresca doesn’t exactly sound enthralled by the idea of Garnacho which might mean a move won’t work.

Manchester United are making a £60m mistake
£60m is the magic number for United to sell Garnacho.
This was all well and good when we thought Napoli were the suitors, with a high sell-on clause making it a move which made sense for all parties.
However, selling Garnacho to Chelsea for £60m is potentially a disastrous move and is a cheap fee when considering Mason Mount cost £55m.
Rio Ferdinand reckons Garnacho is being sold against his will, and his performance on Thursday certainly showed he was fighting for his career at the club.
Garnacho is still performing for United and his potential makes him a player who could go on to be worth double – so selling to league rivals is risky by Ineos.
United should be adding a rival tax to the deal and demand at least £75m for Garnacho.
