Lisandro Martinez – 8/10
Lisandro Martinez was the Man Utd player to go furthest in this tournament, falling at the final hurdle against Spain.
He was an inspiring presence in the backline, but Man Utd fans will be frustrated at Martinez’s injury, which will surely see him miss games for Man Utd now.
Manuel Ugarte – 2/10
Manuel Ugarte had a nightmare tournament after preparing for it since January. Uruguay failed to get past the group stages, drawing against Cape Verde and Saudi Arabia, while Ugarte picked up an ACL injury that likely ends this season for him.
Wishing him a good recovery.
Casemiro – 7/10
Casemiro’s inclusion here is iffy, but he did play the majority of the tournament under contract at Old Trafford, which expired on June 30th.
Brazil didn’t live up to expectations, and Casemiro’s decline was clearly visible, but he still managed to chip in with some crucial contributions when Brazil needed it the most.
Matheus Cunha – 8/10
Matheus Cunha didn’t start the World Cup in Brazil’s first XI, but he ended up as the reason why they qualified from their group.
With three goals in the group stages, Cunha was a maverick for Brazil. He didn’t impact the game much as they crashed out against Norway.

Diogo Dalot – 6/10
Diogo Dalot played behind Joao Cancelo throughout the tournament, barely getting a look in, as Portugal were quietly eliminated by Spain.
He played fairly well in his limited minutes. Much-needed rest for a warrior for Man Utd.
Bruno Fernandes – 7/10
Bruno Fernandes had a Ruben Amorim deja vu at the World Cup as Roberto Martinez misused him in an ill-advised effort to please Ronaldo.
Playing deeper or on the wing, he still managed to influence games in a poor tactical setup. His eyes will light up when he comes back to Michael Carrick’s system.
Noussair Mazraoui – 9/10
Noussair Mazraoui was Man Utd’s best representative at the World Cup, playing as a left-back and locking down some of world football’s biggest threats.
His performance in the elimination game left something to be desired, but he was a rock who rediscovered his form at the tournament.

Marcus Rashford – 4/10
Marcus Rashford had a whirlwind World Cup where he started as a backup, won a starting place, lost it, and never got it back.
Anthony Gordon starred ahead of him, and Rashford’s contribution was limited to an assist in the meaningless Bronze medal match against France.
Amad – 8/10
Amad was confusingly not trusted a lot by his manager, but the Man Utd forward proved that it was a mistake.
He made a difference every time he was on the pitch, with his goal against Ecuador sealing a win, and another against Norway providing hope when they were eventually eliminated.
Ivory Coast could have gone further if they trusted Amad more.

Senne Lammens – 3/10
Senne Lammens had the thankless task of being dropped into a cauldron knockout game against Spain, and his error gifted the opposition their winner.
Lammens will want to quickly forget his 19 minutes at the World Cup and return to Carrington in high spirits.
