The Round of 32 action at the World Cup is delivering massively, as Man Utd players had their fingerprints all over the results.

The first major upset of the World Cup knockout round saw Paraguay eliminate Germany on penalties.

Casemiro – 8/10 (W vs Japan)

Casemiro had his trademark “Man Utd performance”, as he painted over a generally shaky midfield display with a headed goal.

Brazil were heading for an upset loss after Japan took the early lead, with Casemiro struggling to match the pace of the game.

However, his experience and big-game nous came through again as he made the difference when it mattered. Brazil live to fight another day, and so does Casemiro.

Matheus Cunha – 6/10 (W vs Japan)

Matheus Cunha was back down to earth after a brilliant two games from him helped Brazil qualify as group winners.

Starting as the striker again, Cunha struggled to get involved in the attacking phase, largely doing the defensive work for his teammates.

No moment of magic this time, but his importance to the team’s system remains unparalleled.

Noussair Mazraoui – 9/10 (W vs Netherlands)

Noussair Mazraoui was an absolute titan in defence as he locked down the left side to allow Morocco to eliminate the Netherlands.

He was everywhere in defence and kept the ball circulating in attack, ending the game as Morocco’s busiest defender on the day.

He wasn’t needed in the penalty shootout, but he was a key reason why the game went to that stage in the first place.

Wout Weghorst – 6/10 (L vs Morocco)

Wout Weghorst came on to create chaos in the second half against Morocco and fashioned some hopeful moments, but that was it.

He scored his penalty in the shootout with aplomb but saw his side’s campaign end with a whimper.
