Ineos will be fairly pleased with their transfer business at Manchester United so far but there is one top target who slipped through their fingers.
There have been seven fantastic signings made by Ineos so far, including the two January deals for Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven.
Since the takeover, Manchester United have added plenty of young and exciting talent to their squad with Leny Yoro starting to fulfil his potential this season after the Red Devils beat Real Madrid to his signature.
That will continue to be the transfer strategy moving forward, with Ineos keen to put a stop to United’s terrible recruitment record over the past decade.
Ineos explored making a third signing in January after talks with Napoli, but United ended up missing out on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Ineos considered Khvicha Kvaratskhelia deal for Man United
After Ruben Amorim’s arrival at Old Trafford, United were linked with a move for Kvaratskhelia as Ineos went shopping for attacking reinforcements.
With Marcus Rashford wanting to leave United after being frozen out, doing a swap deal with Rashford and Kvaratskhelia is something that was discussed with Napoli over the winter.
Napoli also discussed Alejandro Garnacho – and again Kvaratskhelia could have been involved in a potential deal.
However, the 24-year-old winger instead made a £59million move to Paris Saint-Germain, where he has made an instant impact.
Kvaratskhelia, who has been compared to George Best, has immediately become a star player in Paris and Ineos will be kicking themselves for not pursuing his signature.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia stars in Champions League
One factor in Kvaratskhelia’s decision to join PSG was likely that the French giants could offer him Champions League football – something United couldn’t.
Kvaratskhelia has been flawless in the Champions League for PSG and he continued his incredible run of form as PSG beat Aston Villa 3-1 on Wednesday evening.
The former Red Devils target scored a sensational solo effort past Emiliano Martinez, extending his record to two goals and one assist in the competition this season.
BBC Sport described Kvaratskhelia as “brilliant” against Marcus Rashford’s Villa side, adding that he “troubled Villa all night”.
