The pursuit of a number nine has dominated much of the talk building up to the summer transfer window for Manchester United.
Ruben Amorim has made a new striker among his top demands for this summer, after five months of watching Rasmus Hojlund struggle to have an impact in front of goal or in general play.
Last weekend, Hojlund was yet again disappointing in the Manchester derby, with just 15 touches, and also failing to let off a single shot in the 71 minutes he lasted.
The Dane is 22 years old and offers very little. Put simply, Manchester United deserves better from a starting number nine, and this summer, it will be Ineos‘ job to rectify this.
Already, technical director Jason Wilcox and head of recruitment Christopher Vivell have developed a pretty faultless shortlist of options, which ranges from world-class superstars to Premier League-ready youngsters.

Liam Delap could be available for just £30m this summer
One of the standout striker options on the market right now is Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap, who is having a sublime campaign with Kieran McKenna’s relegation-threatened side.
With 12 Premier League goals, Delap has more than Hojlund, Joshua Zirkzee and Alejandro Garnacho combined. This is all while playing for an ‘inferior’ team.
Delap always looked like the cheaper option for United, with a release clause of £40m, but now, according to Jacob Steinberg and the Guardian, he is actually available for less.
Should Ipswich get relegated, Delap’s release clause fee will drop to just £30m, which is an absolute bargain that may be simply too good to ignore.
The likelihood of this clause being put into effect is quite high as well, with Ipswich heading toward relegation, sitting 12 points and 18 goals from safety.

United in Focus understands that Victor Osimhen is United’s top choice at striker right now, but with this latest update on Delap, he could easily overtake the Nigerian.
Ineos’ toughest summer decision is now a no-brainer
Delap continues to become a more and more exciting prospective signing for United as the season goes on. Most recently, Delap impressed with his goal against Bournemouth.
Choosing between Osimhen and Delap is a tough one for United, with both bringing an upgrade on the current striker. Osimhen would be one for now, while Delap would be one for now but also with an eye on the next few seasons as he develops.
It is an impossible choice, but for United, Ipswich may have made it for them with the £30m price being almost half what Osimhen will cost.
With financial constraints playing a part this summer, Delap is ticking more boxes. He is also a striker who would grow with the team opposed to Osimhen, who is possibly too good for United right now. There is also the injury risk.
Either would be a strong addition, so it is exciting to see who Ineos go with.
