Man Utd in concrete contacts to swap Marcus Rashford for Europe’s ‘most exciting player’

Manchester United are willing to let Marcus Rashford depart the club this month.

However, any deal for the 27-year-old must be in favour of Manchester United.

Ruben Amorim has not used Marcus Rashford since December’s trip to Viktoria Plzen, and since then a lot has happened.

Various clubs have shown interest in Rashford, with his agent and brother in Italy discussing options.

With no deal completed as of yet though, Rashford is expected back in United training – however, it is unclear whether he is in contention to play again while he is actively seeking an exit from the club.

Now, reports have suggested United may be eyeing a deal involving Rashford which would be well received within Old Trafford.

Manchester United make contact over Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

With Rashford likely to end up in Italy, United are seeking a replacement and considering various options across Europe such as PSG’s Randal Kolo Muani.

L’Equipe has now reported that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is one player United are looking at – with PSG also keen on the Georgian George Best.

“In this case [the pursuit of Kvaratskhelia, PSG should have significant competition in England from Manchester United.

“The departure of Marcus Rashford will push the Mancunians to strengthen themselves offensively.

“Here too, concrete contacts have already begun in both directions, with the idea of a possible exchange between the two men.”

This would be the best-case scenario for United – as opposed to losing Rashford on a risky loan deal. Kvaratskhelia is an elite left-sided attacker and could slot in seamlessly for Amorim.

Kvaratskhelia could be an upgrade on Marcus Rashford

There are not many players who would be upgrades on Rashford, but Kvaratskhelia is one of these with his talents being perfect for the role Amorim would have him play in.

Kvaratskhelia has been labelled Europe’s ‘most exciting player’ by Jamie Carragher back in 2023 when Napoli were at the peak of their powers.

The Georgia international has been key this season in Napoli’s push for the Scudetto, with five goals and three assists – while he is among the most creative and best dribblers in the league.

Used in the left inside winger role for United, Kvaratskhelia could improve even more – which is a frightening thought.

Kvaratskhelia has been compared with United legend Best, and if signed he could be an impressive addition for the Red Devils, especially if it gets the Rashford situation cleared up.
