Ayden Heaven enjoyed a brilliant start to his Manchester United career before suffering an unfortunate injury.

Ruben Amorim’s first transfer window as Manchester United head coach saw Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven arrive at Old Trafford.

The latter arrived from Arsenal for a bargain fee of just £1million and Heaven made an incredible start at United after breaking into Amorim’s starting lineup.

Amorim is a huge fan of Heaven, but unfortunately, the 18-year-old centre-back suffered an injury against Leicester City that halted his momentum.

Ayden Heaven spotted in Man United training

United’s season hinges on winning the Europa League and the Red Devils face Athletic Club in the second leg of the semi-final.

Amorim held training on Wednesday morning ahead of the Old Trafford showdown, and Ayden Heaven was spotted at Carrington on a unique plan.

Heaven was spotted training individually at Carrington, suggesting he is not quite ready for full contact training with the first team but is nearing a return.

Heaven told fans he will be back soon and it seems he is well on track to return before the end of the season.

With Amorim willing to give minutes to academy players in the remaining Premier League matches, Heaven can target more first-team minutes before the season comes to a close.

Man United team news vs Athletic Club

While Heaven is making progress in his recovery, he will not return for the crucial second leg clash against Athletic Club.

Unfortunately, Matthijs de Ligt’s injury setback against Brentford has also ruled him out of the clash, meaning Victor Lindelof may have to step up again in the back three.

Diogo Dalot remains injured so is also set to miss the clash, meaning Noussair Mazraoui or Patrick Dorgu will likely start at right wing-back.

After scoring against Brentford on the weekend, Amad Diallo is ready for more minutes as he builds up his fitness following his miraculous recovery from injury.

Chido Obi did train with United on Wednesday but, unfortunately, the academy star is ineligible to play in the Europa League, meaning Rasmus Hojlund will return up front.

As for United’s opponents, Athletic Club have suffered a triple injury blow meaning Ernesto Valverde will have to make several changes to his side for Thursday’s clash.
