Amorim will be tasked with getting the best out of Marcus Rashford once he takes charge at Old Trafford. The 27-year-old is world-class on his day but has struggled for consistency.
Marcus Rashford hit the highest and lowest point of his career under Erik ten Hag. He scored 30 goals in the 2022/23 season but his form then plummeted and he was left out of the England Euro 2024 squad after only scoring eight goals in 2023/24.
Rashford worked hard after his England snub and he has now been handed an international lifeline by newly-appointed Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel.

Thomas Tuchel could revive Marcus Rashford’s England career
Tuchel came close to becoming United manager in the summer after being considered a leading contender to replace Ten Hag.
However, the German manager instead accepted an offer from the English FA to take charge of the national team starting in 2025.
Tuchel praised Rashford in 2020 and is a big fan of the United star, so his appointment at England could kickstart a revival for his international career.
Lee Carsley named his final England squad for the November international break last week and once again Rashford was left out.
What Thomas Tuchel has told Marcus Rashford
According to The Sun, Tuchel is in talks with Rashford and his camp over his return to the England squad.
The report claims that Tuchel confirmed to Rashford that he is a big admirer and that he sees him as an “essential” part of the Three Lions squad.
Tuchel added that “a big part of England’s failure to win Euro 2024 was not having Marcus as an option”.
This could be exactly what Rashford needed. Gareth Southgate made the right call by leaving him out of the Euro 2024 squad. At the time, he was out of form and was not enjoying his football.
However, Rashford looks rejuvenated this season and has already scored four and assisted three goals.
Hopefully Tuchel’s encouragement – and the imminent arrival of Amorim – is exactly what Rashford needed to hear to take him to the next gear.
