Manchester United have confirmed the arrival of new first-team head coach Ruben Amorim.
No longer than when Erik ten Hag was sacked by United on Monday, hours later rumours that Amorim was to be Red Devils bound surfaced.
Rumours that were proven to be absolutely true. Fabrizio Romano all but confirmed Amorim’s Old Trafford, but only now has it finally become official.

Ruben Amorim becomes Manchester United manager
United’s official website confirmed the news in a statement on November 1 at midday.
They confirmed: “Manchester United is delighted to announce the appointment of Ruben Amorim as Head Coach of the men’s first team, subject to work visa requirements.
“He will join until June 2027 with a club option of an additional year, once he has fulfilled his obligations to his current club.
“He will join Manchester United on Monday 11 November.
“Ruben is one of the most exciting and highly rated young coaches in European football. Highly decorated as both a player and coach, his titles include winning the Primeira Liga twice in Portugal with Sporting CP; the first of which was the club’s first title in 19 years.
£Ruud van Nistelrooy will continue to take charge of the team until Ruben joins.”
Amorim joins after international break
Ruben Amorim’s start date means of November 11 means Ruud van Nistelrooy will be in interim charge until then.
Amorim must complete his final contracted games as Sporting manager, one of which is against Manchester City next week.
United fans will be able to see Amorim in charge for the first time when United take on Ipswich Town at the end of the month.
Amorim has expressed his desire to test himself at a higher level and step out of his comfort zone at Sporting.
