New Borussia Dortmund signing Jadon Sancho received a special message from a former England teammate whom Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson rated highly.
Sancho made his hotly anticipated return to Germany in the January transfer window after he was frozen out of the United first team over his spat with Erik ten Hag.
The 23-year-old winger, who hasn’t played for United since last August, signed for Dortmund on loan and will spend the remainder of the season with the German club.
Dortmund have covered a majority of Sancho’s United wages and the Bundesliga club have put up a reported £3m as part of the loan deal.
Dortmund will have to pay an additional £3.4m if certain add-ons are met, including a number of appearances made and if Champions League qualification is achieved.
The deal to take Sancho away from Old Trafford does not include an option to make the move permanent, despite the former England star’s rift with United boss Ten Hag.

Sancho receives special message
Sancho called out Ten Hag after the United boss criticised him over his training performances following the 3-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates last September.
The former Three Lions star was subsequently excluded from the United first team and reportedly refused to apologise to Ten Hag over the remarks he made.
However, Sancho’s former club Dortmund handed him a lifeline after signing him on loan and the chance to play regular first-team football away from United.
Everton flop Dele Alli took to social media and shared a message after United loanee Sancho completed his sensational return to Germany.

The 27-year-old former Tottenham star, who Ferguson previously raved about, welcomed Dortmund’s announcement that Sancho had signed for the club again.
Posting on Instagram Stories, Alli reposted Dortmund’s Sancho post and wrote: “My brother.”
Dortmund welcome back Sancho
Sancho enjoyed a scintillating spell with Dortmund before United signed him for an eye-watering £73m in 2021.
The former England star has been welcomed back with open arms and Sancho is keen to help Dortmund secure Champions League qualification.
Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl insisted that the United loanee is an “absolute difference player” and will be a key part of the club’s plans going forward.
“Jadon is an absolute difference player and I’m looking forward to seeing him back in black and yellow soon,” he said in a statement on Dortmund’s website.
“He knows this city, Signal Iduna Park, our fans and our club.
“Even though he hasn’t played any competitive games in the past few months, we are sure that he will quickly settle back in with us, get into top form and use his qualities to help us achieve our goals for the season.”
