Eric Cantona did Manchester United supporters a favour this week when he spoke out against the Super League.
Cantona said in an video on his Instagram page: “The fans are the most important thing in football. Did the big clubs ask fans what they thought about this idea. No, unfortunately, and thats a shame.”
The Red Devils legend is currently in Manchester, and popped into The Peveril Of The Peak pub, in Great Bridgewater Street, for it’s re-opening.
This was the second time in as many days Cantona had been spotted in Manchester.
He was pictured alongside current Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes, with the pair believed to be filming an advert together.

Seeing Bruno and Eric together is quite remarkable, and it is great to see the admiring way Cantona looks at the current United star.
Fernandes has been likened to Cantona in terms of the galvanising impact he has had on the team since his arrival.
He has a long way to go to match his medal haul, but he is just getting started.
Perhaps this meeting with Cantona will inspire him to kick onto another level, and further add to his 24 goals and 14 assists this season.
