David Eze is the latest young talent to join Manchester United’s ranks.
Manchester United are now familiar with Ineos’ strategy of signing wonderkids and David Eze is the latest high-profile arrival to the academy.
Eze has been a United target since the start of the summer when it became clear he was leaving Manchester City’s youth setup.
According to SecretScout on X, United have now finalised a deal for Eze to join the Red Devils. The report adds that Arsenal had made an offer, but the young midfielder has chosen United.

David Eze profile card
Eze was born in Dublin, Ireland and was rated as one of the most exciting prospects in Manchester City’s academy. It was the player’s decision to leave City’s youth setup, rather than a club decision to release him.
- Age: 16 years old
- Position: Defensive midfielder
- England U16 international captain
AttackingFootball describes Eze as: “Tall, powerful and confident in possession, he has established a reputation as a complete modern box-to-box midfielder.”
Comparisons to former United midfielder and Carrington graduate Paul Pogba have been made because of Eze’s technical ability and physicality in midfield.

When David Eze can officially sign for Manchester United
Poaching Eze from City’s setup is exciting, and as a 16-year-old talent, he will join the likes of JJ Gabriel and Kai Rooney as very promising teenagers at Carrington.
But United will have to wait until Eze is 17 years old before officially signing him on professional terms, as per Premier League regulations.
Eze’s birthday is in March, so United must wait until 2027 to officially sign the young midfielder.
