Aurelien Tchouameni or Eduardo Camavinga would be the perfect ‘marquee’ signing to complete Manchester United’s midfield rebuild.
Manchester United have already signed Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans to reshape the midfield department, but a third signing is needed this summer, and fans want a marquee transfer.
There has been interest in Aurelien Tchouameni, but reports claim the Real Madrid midfielder has agreed to sign a new contract at the Bernabeu.
Andy Mitten insists that Tchouameni is still available this summer, but even if he is not, then a move for Eduardo Camavinga could be on the cards. If United are going to poach either Madrid midfielder, though, they need a favour from their cross-city rivals.

Manchester City hold the key to Aurelien Tchouameni or Eduardo Camavinga leaving
Jose Mourinho has returned to Real Madrid and is now helping to lead transfer business at the Spanish giants.
Mourinho does not want to sell Aurelien Tchouameni or Camavinga, but the landscape at Madrid could shift if they sign their top target Rodri from Manchester City.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Rodri is “dreaming” of a move to Madrid. City have offered the World Cup winner a new contract, but the 30-year-old is yet to agree to the new terms.
Rodri is entering the final year of his contract, so City risk losing him on a free transfer next summer if they don’t cash in.
For United, Rodri’s move to Madrid could trigger a domino effect that leads to Tchouameni or Camavinga making a move to Old Trafford.

Man United face waiting game for final midfielder
The prospect of United being able to sign Tchouameni or Camavinga is worth waiting for.
But if Ineos decide to sit tight and wait for the Rodri saga to play out, United risk missing out on other top targets.
Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes have already slipped out of United’s grasp, and attention has now turned to targets such as Carlos Baleba, Alex Scott and Manu Kone.

But Kone could be snapped up by the Saudi Pro League, and there is rival Premier League interest in Scott.
Tchouameni or Camavinga would easily top United’s midfield shortlist, but it is a risk to wait when the transfer could yet fall flat.
