Along with Raphael Varane, Edinson Cavani was one of Manchester United’s key players in the win over Tottenham who was missing in defeats against both Liverpool and Manchester City.
United are a stronger team with Cavani in the starting line-up, but his injury problems kept him out of the City game at Old Trafford.
Cavani has even sat out the international fixtures for Uruguay as he focuses on returning to full health.
As part of his attempts to recover to match fitness, Cavani has enlisted the help of a personal trainer and shared a video of his workout on Instagram.
In a message to his followers, Cavani said he is ‘willing to come back soon’.
Pictures from the video Cavani posted show how he was putting himself through his paces.

Battle with injury
Cavani spoke about his ongoing injury battle earlier this week in an interview with Uruguayan newspaper El Observador.
He said: “The issue was like this. Before starting the season, I had discomfort in the tendon.
“It made me spend a couple of weeks out until I began to gain some minutes [on the pitch] in my team. I had to go back to the national team, always with a bit of pain, but with the hope that it would disappear.
“It was improving but, after Tottenham, it started coming back.
“They are difficult injuries, and I decided to have the treatment so that it does not continue to get worse, and to recover as soon as possible to be fit for my team and the national team.”
There has been no time frame placed on Cavani’s absence, and he has not officially been ruled out of United’s next fixture away at Watford on November 20.

In likelihood, this could be an ongoing issue without a quick fix, where Cavani is in the side for one game and out for the next.
That shows how United must look to use him when he is available, rather than waste him on the bench.
Cavani has scored once this season, with injuries denying him the consistency to kick on after his 17 goal campaign last season, while his starting chances have also been complicated by Ronaldo’s arrival.
