Bruno Fernandes will be one of the Manchester United players very excited to work with Ruben Amorim.
The Sporting Lisbon connection at Old Trafford goes deep.
From the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo to Nani and then to current captain and talisman Bruno Fernandes, Sporting players seem to always thrive in Manchester.
Manchester United will now be hoping the appointment of new head coach Ruben Amorim is no different.
After the Portuguese coach was confirmed, several former Sporting and United players were in full support of the move.
Nani has previously raved about Amorim, while Bruno has also spoken in glowing terms about Amorim.
Now, Amorim has been handed a boost by his captain.

What Bruno Fernandes did on international duty for Portugal
On Friday night, as Manchester United supporters were digesting Amorim’s first interview as the head coach from MUTV, there was international football being played.
One game of particular interest was Portugal against Poland as Bruno was ever brilliant for his nation – however, his evening ended on a sour note.
In a 5-1 win over the FIFA ranked #31 club Poland, Portugal waled out convincing winners with five goals in the second half.
Bruno was among the goals, but he also picked up a yellow card which led to him picking up a one-game suspension due to an accumulation of cards.
This will see the No.8 miss Portugal’s game on Monday, which could suggest he will be back at Carrington instead, just in time for Amorim’s training to begin.
With Amorim outlining his ambitions of implementing identity from the get-go, having his captain alongside him would be a huge boost – and it looks like he will get it.
Manchester United will love Bruno Fernandes’ display
Bruno continued his fine form for Portugal after how on fire he has been for the Red Devils since now departed Ruud van Nistelrooy was appointed interim boss.
This form earned Bruno ‘best in the world’ claims from a handful of pundits such as Rio Ferdinand.
Amorim will be thanking Van Nistelrooy for getting Bruno back in form, as his season under Erik ten Hag was far from impressive.
Bruno was great once again for Portugal, creating three chances along with his goal in what turned into a dominant win for Roberto Martinez’s side.
Now, the United captain will hope to continue this streak against Ipswich next Sunday – with his early return likely to be beneficial to everyone at United, but most importantly Amorim.
