Ruben Amorim and Ineos have worked together to change Manchester United’s transfer policies this summer.
There is no denying that Manchester United’s recruitment over the past decade has been nothing short of disastrous.
Far too many of United’s high-profile signings have flopped at Old Trafford, but Ineos have recruited impressively, with every signing made in the past 18 months having a positive impact on the squad.
Ineos are trying to fix Glazer problems by offloading players given inflated contracts despite underperforming.
There has been a noticeable shift in transfer strategy at United this summer, and Amorim has explained the changes.

Man United paying close attention to character of new signings
United fans have grown tired of seeing big-money signings flop after moving to Old Trafford, and Amorim has spent much of this summer trying to offload unwanted stars such as Jadon Sancho.
United ignored ‘red flags’ around Jadon Sancho when signing him from Borussia Dortmund, and he ended up publicly falling out with Erik ten Hag and making petty remarks towards the club.
With Amorim and Ineos now at the helm, United are making sure to pay extra attention to the character of players before finalising a deal.
Speaking to club media, Amorim said: “It is a key point in our way of doing things now.
“It’s not just how they play. It’s really important how they play of course, because that is their job, but their character is really important.
“We took a lot of time to know the players and talk with everybody before we brought players into our group.
“That is going to be a rule and will be massive in our decision to sign a player.”
Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha have shown brilliant character
Last week, Luke Shaw spoke about United’s “toxic” environment, and Amorim has been keen to improve club culture and the feel around his squad.
The Portuguese coach has ruthlessly pushed players out of his squad that he believes weren’t helping the dressing room, and United have recruited a new culture chief to help out.
As Amorim said, the club are taking extra steps to make sure signings have the right character to handle the pressure of playing for United, and they have struck gold in Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

Amorim is delighted with Cunha and Mbuemo, suggesting they have both added exciting new personalities to United’s dressing room.
Bruno Fernandes raved about Cunha and the positivity he has brought to the squad, while Mbeumo is a brilliant professional who will help to raise standards.
