Manchester United look a matter of hours away from securing the final piece of the puzzle this summer.
The negotiations over Manuel Ugarte to Manchester United have been dragging along for weeks, but the past few days have seen the deal accelerate.
Manuel Ugarte was left out of the PSG squad this past weekend for their Ligue 1 outing – a second consecutive week.
This came amid claims a deal was very close to being completed, and now it looks like we will see the Uruguayan arrive very soon – with the squad number he will wear at Manchester United unclear.
On Tuesday, Manchester United have reached an agreement and now has the medical scheduled for the midfield talent.

Manchester United agree Manuel Ugarte deal
After all the negotiations over the past month, now a deal has been agreed and Ugarte will likely be in the squad well before Friday’s deadline.
David Ornstein tweeted with the news on Tuesday, writing that Ugarte would sit his medical on Tuesday ahead of completing a deal for the PSG midfielder.
Much to Ineos‘ delight, a deal also looks likely to be cheaper than first expected with an initial £42.2m being reported, with an additional £8.4m in add-ons.
The add-ons are based on his performance and success, which make it a great deal for United, considering the club initially looked likely to need to pay an upfront £51m.
This is yet another example of the new footballing structure at Old Trafford getting it spot on.

Will Erik ten Hag start Ugarte vs Liverpool
With a medical on Tuesday, we imagine that Ugarte will be in training with his new teammates from Wednesday onwards, which could give him four days before Sunday’s game.
If he clicks well, it would be a wise decision to throw him straight into the starting line-up, with midfield being a huge problem as Brighton overran the current pairing with ease.
We saw during pre-season that Casemiro cannot cope with a quick and dynamic midfield – something Liverpool have already displayed.
Therefore Ugarte should start, but so much will depend on the condition he is in and how quickly he and Kobbie Mainoo can develop an understanding.
