Fabrizio Romano has provided a key update over the future of Manuel Ugarte with the Manchester United midfielder closing in on a move.
In recent years, Manchester United have been rushing around near the transfer deadline trying to get deals over the line for their third and fourth-choice options.
However, under Ineos, this summer has been different with the club making key additions in areas that seriously needed developing.
United have made the double signing of Matthijs De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, as well as Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee, have been brought into Old Trafford.

Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Manuel Ugarte
Last week, Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte was left out of the Paris Saint-Germain squad and the same has happened this weekend.
Ugarte is keen on moving to United this summer and the midfielder could be the final piece of the jigsaw with the Red Devils looking for a partner to Kobbie Mainoo.
With the midfielder left out of Luis Enrique’s squad for their Ligue 1 clash with Montpellier tonight, it appears that a move could be approaching the final stages and Fabrizio Romano has provided an update.
On X, Romano confirmed that Ugarte’s move to Old Trafford is at the final stages and detailed that the deal is ‘almost completed’, which would be a big bonus for the Red Devils.
The French Press has claimed United are near an agreement for Ugarte and it does seem a matter of time before the deal is completed.
United must get Ugarte for a decent price after long negotiations
For how long United have negotiated with Paris Saint-Germain, it is vital that the Red Devils get a decent price for the former Sporting Lisbon.
The price that PSG have always wanted is £51 million, but the Red Devils have been somewhat reluctant to pay that fee for a midfielder who is now unwanted by his current side.
There have been reports that United had convinced PSG over a loan deal with the obligation to buy but the fee that the Red Devils pay for that obligation next summer will be key.
If United get the deal down to £40 million -£45 million, this would be another example of very good business done by the Red Devils under Ineos.
Ineos have improved their spine with the addition of teenage talent but Ugarte could be one of the most important pieces of business they conduct this summer.
