Manchester United made their feelings clear on Casemiro after the former Real Madrid midfielder’s poor performance in the 3-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.
Erik ten Hag’s men failed to secure the ultimate bragging rights over rivals Liverpool during their friendly match at the Williams–Brice Stadium in South Carolina.
Manchester United were put on the back foot against the Reds after Fabio Carvalho fired Liverpool into the lead in the 10th minute.
Curtis Jones then doubled Liverpool’s advantage before half-time, with Erik ten Hag’s side failing to pull themselves back into the contest in Columbia.
Konstantinos Tsimikas came off the bench for Liverpool in the second half and found the back of the net to ensure a 3-0 win for the Reds in the States.
The Liverpool clash was the final pre-season match for United this summer, with the Red Devils winning only one of their three fixtures in the United States.
United will face Manchester City on 10th August in the Community Shield before facing Fulham on 16th August in their first Premier League match of the season.

Man Utd star Casemiro vs Liverpool
Casemiro started the pre-season friendly match against Liverpool alongside Toby Collyer, who has impressed during the tour this summer.
The 32-year-old Manchester United midfielder played the full 90 minutes at the Williams–Brice Stadium, despite failing to impress for the Red Devils.
Casemiro offered very little from his midfield role and the Brazilian was partly at fault for not intercepting Fabio Carvalho for Liverpool’s opener.
The United star was widely hailed for his impact at Old Trafford after he arrived in a big-money move from Real Madrid in 2022.
Despite his impressive 2022-23 season with United, Casemiro’s influence waned in the previous campaign and his run in the first team was disrupted by injuries.
Casemiro is under contract with United until 2026 and the Red Devils are reportedly keen to offload the Brazil international this summer.
United have been heavily linked with Paris Saint-Germain defensive midfielder Manuel Ugarte, as the Red Devils look for a long-term successor to Casemiro.
Man Utd fans react to Casemiro vs Liverpool
United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, sent a clear-cut message that Casemiro “cannot start” for the Red Devils next season.
Red Devils supporters believe that Casemiro’s performance was a sign that United need a “replacement ASAP” and cannot rely on the Brazilian as a regular starter.
“We cannot start the season with Casemiro in midfield,” one fan said.
Someone else added: “If Casemiro is my starting centre [midfielder], I will not be showing up.”
A third wrote: “If Casemiro is starting the season, may as well just give Fulham the [three] points and don’t bother turning up.”
“If Casemiro starts for us this season, we will find it a lot harder to progress,” another tweeted.
While a fifth posted: “It’s [a] friendly match and Casemiro’s been poor again, as he was last season. Misplaced so many passes, we need his replacement ASAP.”
And a sixth commented: “Can’t wait to have Casemiro starting this season and [how] people after [the match are] surprised as to why we’re so bad.”
“We cannot seriously be going into this season with Casemiro as our Rodri,” somebody else claimed.
Another simply stated: “I really hope Casemiro doesn’t start for us this season.”
