Man United have discussed Eduardo Camavinga
According to Fabrizio Romano, United have held internal discussions over Camavinga but are yet to hear back about the player.
Romano said: “Manchester United have not started an official negotiation with Real Madrid for Camavinga. Before starting any club-to-club negotiation, the point is what the player wants to do.
“The understanding is that Camavinga still wants to fight for his place at Real Madrid. Camavinga still wants to be a Real Madrid player. So, unless Man United are able to get the green light from Camavinga, it’s pointless going to Real Madrid and starting the negotiation. Camavinga really wants to stay.
“So Camavinga is one of the names discussed internally, because Man Utd will sign a defensive midfielder, as I told you. But it is not something at the minute because this depends on the player, and the player, at the moment, wants to continue at Real Madrid.”

Eduardo Camavinga is the perfect Aurelien Tchouameni alternative
Tchouameni appears to be off the cards for United this summer because he is in talks to extend his Madrid contract. It seems United have once again been used as leverage for a player to strike an improved deal.
But if Tchouameni is not available, Camavinga is the next best thing.
Not only does Camavinga bring similar on-pitch qualities as his France and Madrid teammate, but he also has the same experience and winning mentality that comes with playing for the Spanish giants.

Camavinga’s statistics rank very similarly to Tchouameni’s in terms of their defensive work and duel-winning, and he is also three years younger than his compatriot.
United should go all-in on Camavinga if they get a scent that he is interested in a move to Old Trafford. The remaining options on the market are nowhere near his level.
