Eduardo Camavinga stance on signing for Man Utd from Real Madrid this summer as price tag set

Manchester United haven’t been linked with a shortage of midfielders so far this summer, and Eduardo Camavinga is somewhere on the shortlist.

With the midfield set to be completely overhauled this summer following Casemiro’s departure, Manchester United are planning to sign two or three first-team midfielders.

So far, United have agreed to sign Ederson for a fee of around £34.5m, making him more of the squad bolstering signing, as opposed to a starter.

But Eduardo Camavinga would be a starting-level midfielder, and now fresh links have arrived.

Eduardo Camavinga is interested in Premier League move this summer

United have been keen on Camavinga for months, but it had all gone silent on that front.

Spanish journalist Miguel Serrano has now claimed that Camavinga is still wanted by United, and an enquiry has now been made.

United’s interest comes as Real Madrid slap a very reasonable £52m price tag on the French midfielder.

The interest in Camavinga is no shock, but interestingly, he is reportedly open to making the move to the Premier League and, therefore, United.

But it must also be noted that Camavinga’s priority would be to stay at Madrid under Jose Mourinho.

Camavinga might be a Mateus Fernandes fall-back option

While a brilliant player, Camavinga won’t be signed this summer unless the club fails with the first-choice options, a.k.a Mateus Fernandes.

Camavinga is likely considered a fall-back option, in a similar vein to Carlos Baleba, who Simon Stone has now said is considered a backup option if Fernandes isn’t signed.

“I certainly think there is a chance. Not many people are talking about it at the moment, and most of the vibes are playing it down.

“They pushed but met a fairly sturdy door last summer with Brighton. They’ve already sold one player [van Hecke], I think he’ll be available for less [than last summer].

“I could see if there’s a feeling that Fernandes, for whatever reason, can’t happen, I don’t think that deal would take much to reignite.”

United have so many options, and all are quality; we just need Ineos to get a move on.
