Marcus Rashford is now subject to the ‘ambition’ of one European heavyweight club amid Barcelona’s transfer clause for the Manchester United star, according to reports in Spain.

The 27-year-old Manchester United loanee completed a move away from Old Trafford in the summer, with Barcelona signing Marcus Rashford on loan.

Rashford reportedly took a pay cut to ensure his transfer to the Camp Nou and Barcelona have agreed to cover the England star’s hefty United wages.

The United player will spend the whole 2025-26 season on loan in La Liga and Rashford is expected to play a key role for Barcelona manager Hansi Flick.

Rashford has already impressed for Barcelona this season, including scoring a stunning second-half brace in his side’s Champions League win over Newcastle.

PSG’s transfer offer for Man Utd star Marcus Rashford and Barcelona sporting director Deco faces big questions

It is believed that PSG are now ‘willing to offer’ the Red Devils a fee of €45m (around £39m) for Rashford as a premium price tag over Barcelona’s clause.

Barcelona currently have the option to make the England international’s stay permanent in 2026 for a £30.3m (€35m) fee if they choose to exercise it.

E-Noticies has suggested that PSG’s interest in Rashford has now placed Barcelona sporting director Deco in a ‘delicate situation’ over the La Liga side’s next move.

It is added that Barcelona might have the ‘advantage’ over PSG to sign Rashford due to the clause, but it is dependent on Deco and the board agreeing to activate it.

The Spanish news outlet also claimed that Deco could face ‘more competitive pressure’ in the next transfer window and PSG could flex their financial muscle.
