Barcelona will consider a permanent deal for Marcus Rashford at the end of the season.

Marcus Rashford completed a loan move to Barcelona during the summer, hoping to rejuvenate his career after falling out of favour with Ruben Amorim and joining Aston Villa for the second half of the 2024/25 campaign.

The 27-year-old has made an impressive start to life with the La Liga outfit, who are unbeaten since the beginning of the season.

Rashford has made six appearances for Barcelona, scoring his first goals with a stunning brace against Newcastle in the Champions League last week. He also registered an assist after coming off the bench in Barcelona’s 3-0 win over Getafe on Sunday.

After dreaming of a move to Barcelona, Rashford will want to ensure he does everything he can to convince the Spanish giants to sign him on a permanent deal.

Only time will tell if an agreement can be reached between Barcelona and United.

Barcelona push for cut-price Marcus Rashford deal

Recent reports suggest Barcelona are trying to clinch a cut-price deal for Rashford, which could result in a stand-off between the two clubs at the negotiation table.

According to the Daily Star, Barcelona want to sign Rashford for £26 million next summer.

Barcelona have the option to sign Rashford but want to do a deal with United at a lower price because the England international is said to have settled quickly in Catalonia, despite being dropped to the bench for the win over Getafe.

The report adds that United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is not prepared to sell Rashford on the cheap. He believes that if Rashford performs in Barcelona, the higher his value will become.

It is understood that United value Rashford at closer to £35m, and there is no recall clause in the loan agreement.

Rashford among top scorers in the Champions League

Although there has only been one game week in the Champions League so far this season, it bodes well for Rashford that he is among the top scorers in the competition.

Rashford was one of nine players to score a brace in the first round of fixtures in the Champions League this season.

The others include Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane, Marcos Llorente, Dusan Vlahovic and Marcus Thuram.

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick will hope that Rashford can continue providing the goals in Europe.
