Manchester United remain in talks with Bayern Munich over a potential late deal for young striker Mathys Tel.
The Red Devils look set for a hectic end to the transfer window with several deals on the verge of completion.
Ruben Amorim’s side will face Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon and Patrick Dorgu’s £25m deal is likely to be announced around the match. The 20-year-old was in Manchester in Saturday to finalise his move from Lecce.

In terms of outgoings, Marcus Rashford is about to join Aston Villa on loan for the remainder of the season with a £40m option to buy for the summer window.
Manchester United are now “working hard” to sign Mathys Tel as a replacement for Rashford. Talks have been ongoing with Bayern Munich over a potential loan deal.
However, United are keen to include a clause similar to one in Rashford’s move to Aston Villa.

Man United want £45m Mathys Tel buy option
Just a few days ago, it looked as though Mathys Tel was on his way to Tottenham when the North London side agreed a £50m deal with Bayern Munich for the young striker.
However, that deal collapsed as the player wasn’t willing to join Spurs. Tel is keen on joining United though, and a deal is inching closer to completion.
United have made a verbal offer for Tel, believed to be a loan proposal, but the two clubs are yet to come to a complete agreement.
According to UtdDistrict, United are hoping that they can include a £45m buy option in Tel’s loan deal.
It means that if the 19-year-old is successful during his loan spell, United have the chance to make the deal permanent without having to discuss a new fee.
Why Mathys Tel is so exciting for Manchester United
Scoring goals has been a bit of an issue for United in recent weeks, with Rasmus Hojlund struggling for form and Joshua Zirkzee better suited to a deeper role.
With Rashford on his way out of the club, it frees up space for a new forward to arrive and in Tel, United would be signing one of the most exciting young talents in Europe.
Tel has already scored 16 goals for Bayern Munich and his versatility makes him the perfect replacement for Rashford because he is capable of playing out on the left or as a central striker – something Rashford did often but struggled at.
Tel has been compared to Arjen Robben by Bayern legend Thomas Muller. Muller hailed him as a “superb finisher” – something former Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel agreed with.

According to his Bundesliga profile, Tel’s playstyle is similar to Kylian Mbappe with the young forward full of pace and direct running.
He seems a good fit for Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system and, unlike Rashford, seems keen to be in Manchester.
