Juventus now ‘very confident’ over agreeing deal with Man Utd to sign Jadon Sancho

Just over two days remain in the transfer window, and Manchester United are still very active.

Despite having four players already brought in this summer – with Manuel Ugarte set to be the fifth signing for Manchester United, there is still work to do.

Ineos has been undergoing something of a clearout during this transfer window and there is one more big player needing to be sold.

This follows Scott McTominay’s move to Napoli, with Jadon Sancho having two potential destinations.

Juventus now confident about signing Jadon Sancho

Sancho is edging closer to securing his exit from Old Trafford after Erik ten Hag showed that he won’t be in the plans this season.

The £73m winger has no place at Manchester United, and therefore the club will be desperate to see him out this summer, with only days left though it is getting close.

Now, journalist Peter Hall has reported that Juventus are actually ‘very confident’ over agreeing a deal with United to sign Sancho.

A loan is seen as the preferred method for the Serie A giants, although it is added that a permanent deal cannot be ruled out.

Chelsea’s interest is also noted, but much to the relief of Manchester United fans, there would be a lot that needs to fall into place for this deal to happen.

The Sancho move to Juventus has also had an update from Gianluca Di Marzio in which the Italian journalist tweeted that Juventus are now focussed on Sancho. ‘Very hot hours’ is how he ended the tweet, which means we expect some real movement soon.

Manchester United should avoid Chelsea swap deal

While getting rid of Sancho permanently to Chelsea would be ideal, the fact it comes with the caveat of a swap makes the deal far from ideal.

If Raheem Sterling was to arrive this summer, he would soon find himself facing the same issue Sancho has with little game time – a problem he left Chelsea to escape.

Sending Sancho to Juventus on loan would mean United see the back of him for this season and potentially forever should he impress – while also avoiding another expensive problem in the squad.

So to hear that Juventus are likely now favourites for Sancho is encouraging.
